Meet our translator

Pedro Garcia

We know that it can feel a bit daunting and impersonal when you are looking online for the right company to work with to have your important English documents translated into Spanish. You don’t always know exactly who the person doing the translation work is. If you aren’t fluent in both languages you must blindly trust that your document has been translated at the highest quality and accurately.

As our client of Spanish Lessons with Emily D, you can feel confident that your documents are in the best hands of a professional translator who cares about people and also delivers the highest quality service accurately conveying our client’s message from English to Spanish in the written form.

Pedro Garcia is a native Spanish speaker from Córdoba, Spain. He is fully bilingual in both English and Spanish and has lived in Nashville, Tennessee since 2013.

Since 2012, Pedro has been a trusted member of the Spanish Lessons with Emily D team of teachers and has gained extensive experience working with adult students of all ages from beginner to advanced.

In addition to being a teacher of the Spanish language, Pedro Garcia has more than 10 years of experience working as a professional translator with 5by5 agency, NSM360, Gotquestions.org and Biologos (formerly led by NIH director Dr. Francis Collins).

When translating documents from English into Spanish, Pedro uses a standardized form of the language called “International Spanish”. International Spanish is understandable across all Spanish-speaking regions and countries and is designed to be universally accessible, avoiding regional dialects or slang.

A few examples of the types of documents Pedro has translated include:

Medical: Equipment instructions, medical product presentations, diet and nutrition information

Business: Company, product and service descriptions, professional business presentations, manuals

Science: Scientific research, science and faith articles.

Bible and Theology: Bible commentaries, articles on philosophy, history and theology

One of the benefits of working with a trusted local company is that we offer direct communication with our translator in order to ensure that your project is as accurate as possible throughout the translation process.

Translation process for our clients:

I. INQUIRY

After a potential client contacts us, we will be in touch to get your document files in order to fully assess the project as a whole.

II. EVALUATION

After 1-3 days upon receiving your document(s), we will evaluate the number of words, type of document, translation difficulty, translation time frame requested and will send you a pricing quote and estimated deadline for the project.

If you’d like to move forward after receiving the estimate, clients may pay in full for the entire project if that is their preference. At minimum, we require that clients pay half of the translation estimate up front and the other half once the translation is completed. After receiving the final translation, our clients have a 3 day review period to confirm that the translation meets their expectations.

III. ESTIMATE

Let’s work together.

Do you have documents that need to be professionally translated from English to Spanish?. We are happy to provide a pricing estimate after learning a little bit more about the nature and length of your project.

We look forward to hearing from you and hope that working together will be the right fit!
